William Hutton & Sons

Huttons were established in 1800 were a very large scale producer of machine-made silver flatware. They benefited from the booming market for luxury goods towards the end of 1800s. Much of their early success was down to the licence granted to the by Elkington & Co to use their electroplating process. They were renown for the quality of their arts and crafts silverware, mostly designed by Kate Harris at the turn of the 19th/20th Century.

It was taken over by James Dixon & Sons in 1930 who continued to produce goods under William Hutton & Sons brand name.

James Dixon & Sons are now owned by British silverware Ltd.
